Where to stay in Berlin

Where to Stay in Berlin

Berlin is one of the most eclectic cities in Europe. It’s full of culture, history, and some cool scenery. If you’re planning a trip there, here are the places I recommend staying at while visiting.

Mitte

The Mitte district is the most popular area for tourists in Berlin. It’s home to many of the city’s main attractions and a good choice if you want to stay in the heart of Berlin.

Mitte has plenty of hotels, hostels, and B&Bs offering all kinds of accommodation at prices that fit any budget.

The neighborhood is packed with attractions, including Alexanderplatz Square (the heart of East Berlin), Unter den Linden Boulevard and Museum Island (some of Berlin’s most famous museums).

Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf

Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf is a borough of Berlin, Germany. It consists of the districts of Charlottenburg, Wilmersdorf, Schmargendorf, and Halensee.

Charlottenburg Palace is one of the most famous sights in this part of town. The palace was built between 1795 and 1799 by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a summer residence for himself and his consort Queen Luise (1776–1810). After their deaths, it became one of Berlin’s most important museums.

Schoeneberg-Kreuzberg-Friedrichshain

The best areas to stay in Berlin are Schoeneberg-Kreuzberg-Friedrichshain. These neighborhoods contain everything one might need during the day: shopping, eating, and drinking, as well as nightlife options.

The districts of Kreuzberg and Neukolln are especially popular with tourists because of their alternative culture and large Turkish population (especially in Kreuzberg). Kreuzberg is known for its nightlife and many bars, clubs, and cafés. Neukolln is close to Kollwitzplatz, which has some good restaurants, such as Imbiss 43 or La Cucina d’Oro. The area also has several flea markets every weekend, where you can find inexpensive antiques or clothes!

Schöneberg is an upscale neighborhood where you can find beautiful old buildings built at the end of the 19th century and modern ones like Sony Center, which hosts several events throughout the year, such as fashion shows, concerts, etc.

Moabit-Tiergarten

Moabit-Tiergarten is a great area to stay in Berlin if you want to be close to the city center and close to Tiergarten’s green spaces. You’ll find yourself within walking distance of many sights and attractions, yet you can easily take public transport right into the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all that Berlin has to offer.

Pankow-Wedding

Pankow-Wedding is a district that is home to many hotels and museums. Here you can find the best places to stay in Berlin if you want to be close to Potsdamer Platz, Museum Island, and Alexanderplatz. The area is also perfect for shopping: many stores sell everything from clothes to electronics and food.

Pankow-Wedding is one of the most popular districts in all of Berlin because it’s so close to lots of great sights tourists want to see when they visit this city! There are many hotels here (and even more restaurants), so no matter how many people are traveling with you, they’ll all be able to find somewhere nearby where they’ll feel comfortable staying while they’re on vacation together!

Lichtenberg-Hohenschoenhausen

Lichtenberg-Hohenschoenhausen is a Berlin district located in the north of the city. It’s home to a few sights and attractions—notably, where you can find the Olympiastadion (Olympic Stadium). If you’re looking for somewhere quiet that feels like a small town but still has all the amenities of Berlin proper. This might be just what you’re looking for.

The main station for Hohenschoenhausen is Lichtenberg on line S5; several bus lines also run through this area.

Conclusion

There are many places to stay in Berlin, and there’s something for everyone. There are plenty of hostels if you’re looking for something cheap and modern. If you want more comfort and privacy, some hotels offer everything from a king-sized bed to a kitchenette. The fun thing about Berlin is that it offers so many different types of accommodations and price points—from luxury suites at The Ritz-Carlton Berlin with views over the Tiergarten Park to the budget hotel chains such as Holiday Inn Express or Ibis Styles—that it’s easy to find just what you need for your trip!
